It’s hard to remember anything specific, but some plaster repairs and shed roof repairs took place early in the year but then faltered. The garden wall was rebuilt at long last.
We took the drastic step of getting someone to clear up the garden and she is working steadily down the garden on a weekly basis.
Mick learned the delights of our “new” washing machine and adopted a whole different routine while Kath was ill. He knew she was feeling better when some of the jobs on his list started getting done before he got to them for the first time in months.
Mick also learned how to use a “contactless” card for fuel, pharmacy & medilink, having had one for years but never used it. Kath had always taken care of that side of domestic life while Mick bought stuff online. Thank goodness for grocery and greengrocery deliveries.
While she wasn’t thinking so clearly, Kath
accidentally invented a new biscuit/flapjack that is really rather nice. Muddling up ginger biscuits and oat cookies turned out to be very tasty. Now
she is feeling a bit better and thinking more easily she’s had a couple of goes at replicating it!
